How to write the operating system to disk. The exact instructions.

It happens that you need to write the operating system (for example, Windows 7) to disk. After all, the operating system should always be in the home disk collection, because The operating system must be reinstalled periodically. So many users don’t know how to do this and ask themselves this question: “How to burn windows to disk.”

Actually, it is not difficult to write the operating system to the disk correctly, but many out of inexperience make mistakes that put the disc into a disk that is not suitable for installing the OS from it.

The most common mistakes:
Many people think that writing the operating system to a disk is necessary just like writing everyday disks with various data files. They add the entire folder (or archive) with the operating system to the disk and burn it, and after that they cannot install the operating system from this disk later. It turns out that the disk is simply corrupted.

So how do you write the operating system correctly, you ask.
Everything is very simple. You must write to the disk Image with the operating system. Yes, yes, it is the image itself and not the files, folders and archives. If your image is in the archive (archive formats: .rar .zip .gzip …) then you need to extract it from there with any specialized program, for example WinRAR or 7zip. The image is usually in the .iso format and it is opened by programs such as Alcohol 120% or Demon tools, but we do not need to open it.

To record the operating system, we need a DVD-R disc (You can also DVD-RW) and a burner. Your drive should be able to burn DVDs.

How to burn an image to disk? It is as easy as shelling pears. To record images, you can use any program to burn discs. For example Nero or UltraISO.

Well, let’s stop at Nero since thanks to its graphical interface, it is very easy to learn.

So, we got the Nero program, installed it and run it.

At startup, a window will appear (the main menu of the program) from which we will do everything. At the top of the window, select the DVD disc format in the drop-down list, go to the “Save” tab with the pat and select the option “Burn image to disk” in the second column. Next, we indicate the program the path to the image file of the operating system, insert the disk into the drive and click on the “Write” button. Then we wait until the disc is burned for some time, that’s all! At the output, you get a disk with the operating system you need, from which you can install it on your PC OS without any problems.

Some descriptions of the above programs:
7-Zip is a free file archiver with a high degree of data compression. It supports several compression algorithms and many data formats, including its own 7z format with a highly efficient LZMA compression algorithm. The program has been developed since 1999 and is free, and also has open source code, most of which is freely distributed under the terms of the GNU LGPL license, with the exception of the unRAR decompressor code, which has limitations. The main platform is Windows (including Windows CE), where two versions of the program are available: with a graphical interface and a version for the command line. The console version was ported by the community of developers for POSIX standard systems under the general name p7zip. Ported versions for other systems, as well as the original 7-zip program, are available on the SourceForge system website (as of November 7, 2010 the program was downloaded from the site more than 109 million times). 7-Zip is the winner of the 2007 SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards in the categories: Best Design and Best Technical Design.

WinRAR today the RAR archiver is perhaps the most common program after the operating system and browser. WinRar program is one of the most powerful and multifunctional archivers.

There are several versions of RAR for various operating systems, in particular, Windows Vista, 7, Pocket PC, Linux, etc.

WinRAR features:

full support for RAR and ZIP archives;
Original high-performance data compression algorithm;
special multimedia compression algorithm;
drag-and-drop shell with drag & drop support;
command line interface;
management of archives of other formats (CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR, ISO, 7Z, Z);
support for solid archives, in which the compression ratio can be 10 – 50% more than with conventional compression methods.

Alcohol 120% brings a new meaning to the word multimedia! The program, without a doubt, is a leader in its class, capable of emulating and burning CDs and digital video discs, and all this is combined in one surprisingly convenient program. The program is constantly evolving and improving, using the most advanced technologies.

Program features
The program is able to save your most used CDs as images on your computer and call them in one click. And then read them at 200 times faster speed. However, the program does not require a CD directly!
