How to promote a blog?

This question is very relevant, and hundreds (or thousands) of more or less successful bloggers ask themselves that no one is reading their blog.

What is given to us? A new person in blogging. Recently created a blog or just about to create it. He knows quite well the topic on which he will write. And this person wants his blog to be read, comments left for him and all people in this topic knew about him. And it is desirable that his goal was not to raise money from the blog …
The first one. Forget SEO.
SEO – search engine optimization (SEO, Search Engine Optimization, SEO, etc.) – this is the work with the aim of increasing the position of the site in search engines for any user requests.

Throw this nonsense out of your head and do not apply knowledge in this area for a blog. A blog is for people, not robots. Forget about Yandex. Only Yandex.Blogs. Forget about Google and Rambler, they do not exist for you. Do not worry with meta-descripton – better take care of normal RSS. Write headings not for search engines, but for people. Do not measure in messages 6% by keyword. In general, forget SEO as a nightmare, SEO only gets in the way of a blog.
The second one. Write, write and write again.
Write a blog about interesting, useful, new. Try to stick to your blog topics, at least approximately. I consider the most optimal 1 post in two days. Someone makes a post a day without problems, someone hardly squeezes out two posts a week. But still try to write systematically. There is one very important point. Do not write just like that, there is nothing to do. Sometimes it happens that 1 post per week brings more useful to users than 10 posts in the same week.
The third. Comment on.
Subscribe to all reputable blogs on your subject (let’s take homeless people as an example. To be in the topic, you need to be subscribed to blogs with at least 30 homeless people). Carefully read all their posts, and if you have something to say, be sure to tell. But not just “+1” or “thank you, read it”, but expanded – ask questions, supplement, argue with the author. Naturally, leave a link to your blog in a nickname. Almost all bloggers will definitely see which person wrote this excellent comment, and if he finds your blog interesting, he will at least subscribe to it (which means that he will come back in the future, and possibly more than once). Many post readers will do the same. And be sure to subscribe to the comments, or at least within 3-4 days follow the comments on the note where you left a comment.

The first one. Pay attention to the design.
Choose a template once and for all, scatter blocks – recent posts, categories (tags), authoritative blogs. Register a counter (if there is enough), if you want to keep track of your readers – put a feedburner’s counter, at the same time change all RSS addresses to the address provided by feedburner’s.
The second one. Tell us about yourself.
Devote the first 2-3 posts to describing yourself as a loved one and your blog. Write who you are, where, how old you are, what you do. Describe the subject of the blog. In some cases, also describe your assets, your purpose. This helps to judge the author of the blog, in this case it is better to avoid anonymity.
The third. Fill the blog.
It will be an error immediately after that to send the blog to blog directories, offers to exchange links, requests for PR on other blogs, etc. To start, write, write and write again, as well as comment on other people’s posts. It is worth adding a blog only to the RSS catalogs Yandex.Blogs, Kanban, Plazoo, HeadLines, Technorati.

Naturally, you need to be registered in these services, and the presence of a pumped profile will further improve the situation. This will highlight your blog, as well as transmit a certain number of visitors (depending on your literary skills), which will naturally turn into subscribers and commentators. The second one. Link to friendly blogs.
Do not offer to exchange links, just put links to interesting blogs and that’s it. If a lot of users will be coming from your blog, the blog owner will notice this anyway and will definitely come in (everyone likes statistics and watches).
